Scott Fitzgerald, Dexters dream can be connect to the American Dream, but Fitzgerald represents it negatively, basically saying that the reality is the American Dream can never be reached. F. Scott Fitzgeralds life is a tragic interpreter of both sides of the American Dream the joys of young love, wealth and success, and the tragedies associated with excess and blow which shows through in this story (F. Scott).The American Dream is what every American wants to achieve. Which is basically wealth and a steady-going looking spouse. Well this is incisively what Dexter Green treasured from the time he was 14 days old. He starts off working as a caddie at the Sherry Island Golf Club to associate and make connections wit the wealthy lot there. He wanted not association with glittering things and people, but wanted the glittering things themselves (Fitzgerald).
